82’ SLOOP “POLYTROPON II”
Just launched at the custom facility of Nautor this new yacht named Polytropon II was designed around a brilliant idea from the Owner.

As experienced sailor, he enjoys driving his boat and being close to the action in privacy. Instead of building a larger boat where and being somewhat remote from the water it was decided to divide in two, a relatively small sailing yacht with ample accommodations for the Owner’s party together with a shadow motor boat nicknamed “the kitchen boat” Polytrofon (lots of food in Greek) equipped with ample accommodations for the crew of the two bats and a large galley.

The shadow boat powers to anchorages in advance and also works as a ferry for guest, supplies, spares and crew from secluded anchorages to harbors.

Food is cooked on the tender moored alongside and once food is served she anchors nearby.

The sailing boat is relatively light since the weight of the galley, laundry and ancillary equipment is loaded in to the tender. The simple swept back spreader rig fitted with a roller furling boom and self tacking jib would be easy to handle by a small crew of two.

The stepped bottom hull of the tender driven by twin 300 HP stern drive Volvo engines will be capable of 42 knots even in rough seas.

The outside styling and interior design of both boats has been done by Lazzarini & Pickering where they design has achieved an unusual feeling of space and closeness to the sea in sophisticated elegance.
